halloween!

i'm not attending the J&J Halloween Party or any other tonight or tomorrow, but i'm still very excited about Halloween. in Supernatural it's the raising of Sam Hain which breaks one of the 66 seals, in real life it's when adults get to wear silly costumes and people like me (who have no parties to attend) get to do Supernatural dvd runs! XD

here's a little picture to show my allegiance to all silly costume parties everywhere! and, of course, to wish all costume-ing friends a fun fun night!

taken in Dessert Factory, The Terraces - Cebu on the 28th :-)
(and the witch looks mighty scared over my look of mischief!!!)

500 days of summer

i finally saw 500 Days of Summer, and in the course of watching the movie (weird as it may sound), i missed Elizabethtown (and remembered how much i loved it so).

and no, not just because i know what being a substitute person means, nor because i, in secret, want to be claire colburn. ;-)

consumerist preoccupations

i'm taking a couple of minutes break from the proposal that i'm crafting for work, and because i'm very much under the weather, i'm trying to make sure that i don't stay off track too long...

...which might be in vain, really, as i found some little geeky things that made my heart beat a little faster and my wallet go through a fake audit inside my head!

some little things i super dooper want, and i won't mind getting for free heehee :)

1) from The Unemployed Philosphers Guild, a couple of cuuuute things:

freudian slippers! :-)

michel foucault, whose works i enjoyed reading rather immensely;

the axis of evil (L-R: Bush, Hussein, Kim Jong Il, and Khamenei)

and friedrich nietzsche ♥

2) from Fashionation's Stephie Tan's shop!

isn't the Robert Lilliput adorable? ♥ i want!

goodbye, cebu.

this was how the last two days more or less looked. almost eerily like the old days, with a cup of drink and a laptop. :-)

this time around, i got to see a little more of cebu, and maybe, just a little bit more of the cebu retail environment. no real damage rendered, since i kept everything in check (i got a book and a souvenir), but you know, i'm very happy. i'm a tad bit tired, but isn't everyone these days?

i mentioned in a previous post that alvin and kenneth were here for the weekend, and the photos have been posted on facebook. kenneth comments on this photo that i am the "reyna ng Region 10" (the queen of Region 10), and that gave me a nice fuzzy feeling, like home after a really really long drive.

so, there. a blurry photo of the Queen of Region 10. ♥

same view, different perspective

my flight to cebu earlier today was the first time i sat on a jumper seat-- the seats right behind the cockpit, and yes, facing the opposite direction. cebu pacific talks space efficiency and fuel economy, and on the up-side, there was roomy leg room. i'd have taken a picture, but the only camera i have on me is a phone camera, and we all know how pleasant it is to get reprimanded by the crew over using phone cams :-p

it wasn't as nauseating as i thought it'd be, and to be fair, seeing CDO from that perspectiv eallowed me to retrace the road we took going to the airport. the view from the windows were more like a sea of clouds than going over an archipelago, and it wasn't at all that bad.

i guess you can quote me on that-- it wasn't that bad, but i'm not looking forward to my next jumper seat experience :-p

now in starbucks enjoying my first macchiatto in a long time.

flurry

if you asked me where i've been the past few, i'd name a couple of cities (Bukidnon, Davao, Clarkfield Pampanga, Manila), and a pretty long list of coffee shops. i remember interiors (the basic posh coffee shop set-up with round wooden tables and comfy couches, the mexican-meets-modern with coffee brown booth seats and long-necked women in mexican garb painted on yellow walls, to home-y cafes reeking of country style everything), coffee scents, blends, and pasta and salad menus. these coffee shops have been home to my nerve-wracking deadlines, reconciliation sheets, and powerpoint presentations. as they say, whatever works, right? :-)

something i came upon early this morning. i think i've been thinking too much about polaroid and cameras all too soon (it's not even christmas yet!)

needless to say, a camera is on the christmas wishlist. nomnomnom.

downtime over!

funky christmas feeling

after clocking in my due hours yesterday, i went around gazebo's display of pretty wares and came upon this beautiful holy family resin wall hanging. the rich old rose and deep cerulean-y blue colors of the garments of st joseph and the virgin mary caught my eye, as well as the intricate detailing.

i love how this reminds me of christmas without overdoing the message.
